It has been a while since the last electronics update when we had first got the focus error signal out. All the circuits now work together and are getting developed.
We have had a few new circuits designs since then. These have been prototypes on breadboards, strip board and are now a new printed circuit board (PCB). The new PCB is getting soldered up as I write. Hopefully we can start testing it tomorrow. The PCB should help reduce the noise in our circuit by reducing the amount of wires running all over the place and ensuring everything is grounded appropriately.
Most importantly the electronics all got put inside a box. The box doesn’t do anything electronic but it is still very exciting.
We still have some ideas about things we want to do to the circuit but should hopefully have a really decent prototype with the newest bits.
